Core v1.20.2 - Fixes to User-Submitted Bugs and Other Housekeeping

| By

We’ve collected a few user-reported issues and requests along with a few housekeeping items for release.

Thank you to the users and contributors who reported a handful of bugs over the last few weeks. The Digital Communications team welcomes all forms of input including bug reports, feature requests and ideas for improvement. You can submit your requests or findings to Pantera Request Form.

New Feature

  • It is now easier to create an aggregated feed, or a single feed comprised of more than one feed. For example, you can combine feeds from multiple tags on FIU News or more than one calendar in the FIU Calendar. This feature will appear on all new sites. If you’re interested in adding this to your site, the DigiComm team can accommodate you free of charge. Requests can be sent to digimaint@fiu.edu.

Improvements

  • Updated the HTML sitemap to format the “Home” link like the other top-navigation links
  • Updated the Title IX link in the footer to bypass the redirect it had been pointing to
  • Re-arranged and renamed the blog image fields to limit confusion between the post image and the post thumbnail

Bug Fixes

  • The text in the FIU Announcement bar has been updated to match the text color on other modules with the gold or “bright gold” background
  • Fixed an issue where content would sometimes overlap the “On This Page” menu on mobile
  • Fixed an issue where the Calendar and News feed modules would sometimes unexpectedly generate a View More link
  • Fixed an issue preventing the second link for the Calendar module from displaying
  • Elements in the horizontal subnav will now respect the “Open in a new window” setting
  • Fixed a formatting issue with the “social-media” class used to display the social icons inline in the pre-footer
  • Fixed a formatting issue in the Full-Width Media module caused by using the “vertically-centered” custom class. Although this issue has been fixed, we do not recommend using this class on this module.
  • Fixed an issue in the Calendar module that made en dash and em dash characters display as their escaped HTML entities
  • Fixed an issue where certain characters in blog category names produced broke XML
