Have you ever wondered how many students graduate from FIU each year, how many degrees we award or what the most common degree programs are?
The Analysis & Information Management (AIM) team is the unit responsible for gathering this type of information. AIM carefully collects, analyzes and publishes a wide range of university data for the FIU community and external agencies.
But AIM isn’t just about data collection.
As Hiselgis Perez, associate vice president of AIM, explains, the data they provide helps guide decisions that shape student success, resource allocation and more. AIM is a tool for everyone at FIU. Whether you're a department chair trying to understand enrollment trends or a web editor building student personas, AIM’s data fuels smarter strategies.
Here's a breakdown of the key types of data AIM manages:
- Enrollment figures (by college, program, term, student type, etc.)
- Graduation and retention rates
- Degrees awarded by academic year and program
- Student demographics, including geographic origin and international representation
- Faculty counts and instructional activity
- Financial aid statistics
- Housing data (e.g., how many students live on campus)
Explore FIU's data dashboards

FIU provides two main public-facing sources for data. The AIM website features public dashboards like the FIU Fact Book, an interactive collection of data captured at the beginning, middle and end of each semester. The Fact Book is organized into six key dashboards: degrees, employees, student headcount, course enrollment, retention and graduation, and campus.

For FIU employees, the FIU Accountability website provides a deeper dive with filterable dashboards by department, college or university‑wide metrics. These dashboards deliver detailed insights into enrollment figures, graduation and retention rates, degrees awarded, student demographics, faculty counts, financial aid statistics and student housing data.
Training resources on Accountability
The FIU Accountability website includes a suite of self‑service training materials. Click the question‑mark icon in the navigation bar to access video tutorials, presentations and a Tableau Basic User Guide. These resources help FIU employees learn at their own pace and get the most out of every dashboard.
Need data you can’t find?
Sometimes dashboards don’t show the exact data you need. Submit a request through AIM’s Data Request Form. It may take up to 10 business days to process your request. Whether it’s the total degrees awarded since FIU’s founding or a detailed breakdown of enrollment by region, AIM will pull the figures you need and provide the context behind the numbers so you get accurate insights.
So the next time you need a number or want to understand the story behind a data point, AIM is your go‑to source.
