There are several versions of the FIU logo for different use cases. Most colleges and large units around the university have an FIU logo unique to them. As an FIU communicator or website manager, you should know when and how to use each logo.
The primary FIU logo and other variants of the FIU logo are available for download on the FIU Brand Toolkit.
Primary FIU Logos
Primary Horizontal Logo
Primary Vertical Logo
Primary Acronym Logo
The primary FIU logo is the most used and recognizable version of our logo. There are three versions of the primary logo FIU uses.
Using the primary logo
- Use any version of the primary logos for all internal university-wide communications, marketing initiatives and web ads. Prioritize using the horizontal or vertical versions of the logo unless space is limited.
- Use either the horizontal or vertical versions of the logo for official university documents.
- Use either the horizontal or vertical versions of the logo for non-local audiences, national or international web ads and marketing initiatives.
- The primary acronym logo should only be used for marketing materials, never for official university documents.
- The primary acronym logo may be used on its own for on-campus marketing materials and events.
- Do not combine the primary acronym logo with an official unit logo.
College and Unit Logos
Every college and most large units and centers at the university have a specific version of the university logo consisting of the FIU acronym and the college or unit name.
Colleges should exclusively use their official logo on their websites. Colleges and units should use their logo for any internal-facing communications.
Using college and unit logos
- Do not combine unit logos with any of the primary FIU logos.
- Use the unit logo featuring the full college and university name for all external-facing marketing initiatives or web ads.
- Using unit logos for promotional materials requires approval from FIU’s Branding and Licensing team.
- Communication pieces requiring multiple FIU unit logos should use the outlined block letter logo, followed by listing the names of the featured units.
Promotional Graphics
Units can create promotional logos for specific initiatives, programs or events. These logos should not replace the unit logo and must not include any elements of the FIU logo.
When representing the university externally, the unit logo should be the primary identity, with the promotional logo used as a secondary element. The goal is to clearly show that the initiative, program or event is part of FIU.
Special Logos
The remaining FIU logos can only be used by specific parties at the university. Any non-traditional use of these logos requires approval from the Division of Strategic Communications, Government and External Affairs.
Panther Logo
The FIU Panther reflects our accomplishments and competitive spirit and represents FIU Athletics and its entities. The Panther logo should not replace the primary FIU or unit logos.
Student affinity groups and sports clubs can use the FIU Panther logo as an element in their logo. The Panther logo is only intended for student-facing marketing initiatives, websites and digital ads and should always be used with the primary FIU logo.
The University Seal
The University Seal is reserved for official university business and formal university documents such as diplomas, certificates and plaques.
The seal isn’t available for download and cannot be used on any FIU website, marketing material, digital ad or merchandise for colleges/units.
Licensing and Merchandise
Only approved university vendors can produce and sell FIU-branded merchandise. Vendors must also have the appropriate license to use official FIU marks. For a list of licensed vendors, visit CLC’s Licensee Search page and select Florida International University from the dropdown menu.
Become a licensed vendor
If you’re interested in becoming a licensed vendor, contact CLC, our licensing agency, at applications@clc.com. CLC works with companies that wish to produce FIU-branded merchandise for sale.
