The Office of Digital Communications has released DigiComm Assistant for Microsoft Copilot.
DigiComm Assistant takes all the knowledge from the Core Resource Hub, Digital Communications Standards Policy, FIU Brand Style Guide, and Siteimprove documentation and uses it to answer questions about building and maintaining FIU websites.
Think of this agent as a digital member of the DigiComm support team. It's here to answer the kinds of questions you might send us through digimaint@fiu.edu.
How to use DigiComm Assistant
DigiComm Assistant can be accessed through Microsoft Teams using the Copilot panel. Select More agents and search for DigiComm, and DigiComm Assistant should appear in the results.

Once you've opened the agent, ask a question and DigiComm Assistant will review the hundreds of posts we've written on the Core Resources Blog, the university's brand guide and official documentation to answer your question as succinctly as possible.

Here are some example questions:
- How do I build an FAQ page?
- How do I access Cascade?
- Is Cascade down?
- How do I hide my page from Google?
- Why is my page still appearing in Google?
- How do I add a new page in Cascade using the Core template?
- Where can I find our FIU brand colors and fonts?
- How do I check my site's accessibility score in Siteimprove?
- How do I build a form with Webforms?
- I want to request a new website - where do I start?
- I have an idea for a new template feature - how do I submit it?
- Can I use AI to write content for my FIU website?
We highly recommend sticking to questions related to FIU websites, editing in Cascade, brand basics, accessibility, Siteimprove, content strategy, web design or Webforms.
What if DigiComm Assistant is wrong?
If you think DigiComm Assistant is wrong or you're not sure, reach out to us at digimaint@fiu.edu.
The agent has specific instructions not make up answers and not to assume what it can't find in our knowledge base. We've also instructed the agent not to decide whether something is accessible.
That said, there are times when it may stretch beyond its boundaries. You can always double-check with us.
Is DigiComm being replaced by AI?
Hah, no. Don't worry. DigiComm is not being replaced by AI.
We're still here building the knowledge base this new tool uses to answer questions.
We're still writing posts for the Core Resources Blog and answering questions sent to us.
If using an AI agent isn't your thing, you can always reach us via digimaint@fiu.edu. You'll still need to contact us directly for access requests, for example. Projects requests should be submitted through the MarCom project form.
We'll also continue posting notes, announcements, polls and release updates to the FIU Digital channel on Teams.
If you're like us and crave human interaction, keep an eye out for our training and networking events!
