If you've ever visited an FIU event page, you may have noticed the following text about requesting accommodations to attend the event:
Need an accommodation or accessible materials? Contact the Office of Universal Access and Digital Compliance at accommodations@fiu.edu or 305-348-1576.
This text is known as the Reasonable Accommodations Policy for Events. We include information about accommodations in our event pages to ensure we provide equal access, participation and opportunities in all programs, activities and materials.
The Reasonable Accommodations Policy for Events is required to be present on any page promoting the details or registration of an FIU event. If your page does not include this message, it may be taken down or modified to meet university standards for accessibility.
The policy is already part of the FIU Calendar event page template, but, when creating event pages on your own website or externally, you must manually include the policy.
Remember, this requirement exists to comply with state and federal laws and university policies.

FIU is committed to providing accessible education and employment opportunities to all and is prepared to reasonably accommodate anyone who qualifies for accommodations.
The university provides resources for understanding and complying with accessibility law, policies and requirements. We encourage you to educate yourself as to the university's accessibility requirements.
