The DigiComm team is happy to announce that our recently released italic class now has an equally stylish cousin: the bold class. This new class lets you give visual emphasis to your text without causing screen reader issues.
We have also made some updates to H1 headings in banners, increasing their size a bit to make them stand out more consistently.
As always, this update also contains some accessibility improvements and bug fixes, like a pesky issue causing ampersands to display improperly in News modules.
Please send reports of any issues you encounter to digimaint@fiu.edu so we can continue improving our template!
Improvements
- Added a bold class
class="bold"
to base styles. This class makes text bold without semantic emphasis. For more info on using text classes, check out our blog post on adding emphasis to your text. - Updated H1s in banner content field to match other modules.
Bug Fixes
- Stats rows now have more consistent styling.
- Blog tags with long titles now display properly.

- Fixed an issue causing ampersands to render as “&” in News titles. Do you know when to use an ampersand?
- Fixed accessibility issues for Events modules containing links.
- Fixed accessibility issues for page intros with an anchor navigation but no other content.
- Fixed accessibility issues for the Blog module.
