An FAQ page is a powerful, user-friendly addition to any website. It helps users quickly find the answers they need without having to search the whole site.

A well-thought-out FAQ page offers immediate answers to important details and contact information the user may need. Using Google Analytics, Google Search Console, research, user personas and expert interviews can help you craft targeted questions that address what users are searching for. Consider, for example, the four common questions every prospective student asks before applying to a university. Creating targeted questions builds credibility and demonstrates that you understand your users.

FAQ pages help improve SEO by including relevant keywords that boost your search engine ranking and can even be selected by Google to provide direct answers on search result pages. Additionally, it helps users navigate your site by guiding them to the right sections to learn more about specific topics.

Adding an FAQ section using the accordion module

1. Create a new content area

2. Select Content Block, then choose Accordion

3. Add a descriptive paragraph and title it FAQs or Frequently Asked Questions

4. Use an accordion panel per question. Enter the question in the Label field and answer in the content box.

If your FAQ section has more than 10 questions, consider organizing them by category to make navigation easier.

While the accordion module is recommended in most cases, you can also use the searchable list module, like on FIU Parking, or list questions and answers in one-column content blocks, like on CasaCuba.
